Fazley FES418NT Semi-Acoustic Guitar (Natural)

Arrived today..very quick delivery.
Stunning looking guitar...but on closer inspection....quite a few lacquer runs and flat patches on the bodywork.
As for playability out of the box....not good..

Fret buzz on 5 of six strings from bottom to top of the neck...shame really because it is a beautiful looking guitar...also there was no Allen key supplied for truss rod adjustment.
Seems to have a nice tone to it.
I'll know more once I've sent some time on it to make it playable...must have been QC'S day off

Very pleased with this,my first archtop guitar. Although cheaply priced,a well made and lovely finished guitar.I had to remove the nut,and reduced the height of it with sandpaper, but apart from that the setup was excellent. Sounds great,and is very easy to play.

Further to my original review, I would like to add that, as it came, the frets really did need a polish, but other than that... happy:)

This lovely little guitar is much more than I thought it would be! It's very well made, and as it came it was set up more or less like I prefer. I do all my own set-ups, and am pretty particular, but I had little to do. The string height was pretty close (1.7mm 6th string,1.4mm 1st string at the twelth.). The intonation was about spot-on, but the nut slot height was way out. No problem, just a little careful re-cutting solved that one. The finish is very good, just a couple of finish sags on the sides, but nothing to be bothered about. The frets were well finished, no sharps there. The sound of the pickups is rather nice, better than I'd imagined, nicely balanced and smooth. The tone controls work! It's a nice instrument to play, and I feel will only get better. The rather bright look to the finish will fade somewhat with a bit of light exposure, in time. all in all, a very useable and pretty guitar - one thing though, two days after I bought mine, the price dropped tp £207!!!! Not had it long but well pleased with it's build quality, it has quite varied warm tones through my 1970s WEM / Watkins tube amp I might well swap the bridge over for a roller type as I feel it is a little bit sticky on tuning up but overall I like it.

My son loved this guitar, great sound, comfortable hold and stunning scheme.

It's rare for me to buy a guitar without first trying it out. In this case I don't regret my choice.

I was attracted by its classic archtop look and colour. I can remember seeing this type of guitar from way back and they were always out of my price range.

These days you could buy a classic archtop and it might cost thousands.

This guitar comes with a 2.5 mtr lead, allan key and a screwdriver.

It has roundwound strings, I think they are 10s. I will change these to flatwound 10s.

The body work finnish is excellent. The action is also excellent. I think the intonation will need some adjustment but I will tackle this when I change the strings.

The sound is mellow without being muddy and I guess the neck or neck and bridge combined positions are my favourite sounds.

Overall it's not possible to be negative about this instrument especially at the price.Great buy.

Dingue ! Bon, il faut changer les cordes car elles vibrent, mais j'avais hâte jouer, donc je l'ai accordée, elle est restée accordée depuis (5jours) ! Rien à régler, impeccable, très beau bois, en fait rien à redire. Excellent rapport qualité prix !

La guitare que j'ai reçu est parfaitement réglée.
Rien à faire dessus.
Belle guitare,bien finie et très agréable à jouer.
Je conseille juste de mettre des cordes en 11/42 pour avoir plus de rondeur.

Celle que j'ai reçue est pleine de petits défauts : vibrations dans le chevalet, micro chevalet fixé de travers, manche écorné côté micro...
Dommage, elle est très agréable à jouer et plutôt chouette. Mais celle-ci n'a du passer par le contrôle qualité. Je l'ai renvoyée et recommandée, car elle me plaît, en espérant que celle que j'aurai en échange sera sans défaut. Je compléterai alors mon avis.

Via internet besteld. 1dag te laat geleverd, koste me een verlofdag. Bleek de gitaar ook niet bespeelbaar omdat deze niet was gecontroleerd en afgesteld voor verzending. Ben naar Amsterdam gegaan om er naar te laten kijken en ben daar perfect geholpen. Gitaar speelt nu geweldig en klinkt voortreffelijk. Jammer dat men de gitaar niet even voor het verzenden heeft nagekeken en afgesteld, dit had veel ergernis en een rit naar Amsterdam uitgespaard.

Prachtige gitaar om te zien, maar ik betwijfel of het kitscherige goud er heel lang op blijft zitten. Ik heb 'm nu een jaar en het zit er nog steeds op, dat weer wel. Een goeie luthier buurt als je 'm binnenkrijgt, is geen slecht idee. Het geluid is heerlijk vol en kan ook zeker heet worden met alles open en een beetje harder spel.

Zeer tevreden mooie gitaar goed geluid helemaal top en dat voor die prijs
